Detectives believe the victim – whose name is not being released at this point – had gotten into a fight inside the convenience store just before the assault. Exactly what sparked the fight isn’t clear.

The suspect was identified as 29-year-old Anthony Coleman. Deputies were able to detain him a short distance away from the store.

Coleman has since been booked into Sacramento County and is facing homicide charges.

This young man was my son and did not deserve this. He loved people and would give the shirt off his back. I am so so heart broken and so are his siblings. I have lost my first born to a monster and they have lost there bubuh!!! This should not have happened. Additionally, the convenience store clerk who witnessed the whole thing told me that “this happens all the time, its nothing”. I am disgusted by this to say the least. And the fact that my sons killer was just released from prison, Thanks Governor Newsom, is an absolute tragedy! I want justice. Now!!!
