Stretch Of Auburn Boulevard In Citrus Heights Closed Due To Downed Lines

10:11 a.m. Update: All lanes, with the exception of the #2 lane of northbound Auburn Boulevard between Devecchi Avenue to Desimone Lane, are now open, police say. Crews are still actively working around the lane closure, so drivers are urged to use caution.

CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) - Downed lines prompted police to close a stretch of Auburn Boulevard in Citrus Heights.

Around 5:30 a.m., two poles were knocked down along the roadway between Manzanita Avenue and Greenback Lane, causing the wires to lay across the roadway and sidewalk. Police say that preliminary evidence indicates it was a hit-and-run crash.

SMUD says the poles were communication poles holding Comcast lines.

[EDITOR'S NOTE: A previous version of this story reported that the downed lines led to a power outage, however, SMUD says the two incidents are not related.]
