Survey: Sacramento Homeless Tents Double Since 2019
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A new report has found that the number of homeless tents in Sacramento County has doubled since 2019.
The research was done by a team from Sacramento State University, who surveyed homeless camps across the county in January and February.
At least a thousand tents were counted - twice as many as reported two years ago.
The county's official homeless count was canceled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
