Suspect Arrested After Cabin Fire In Placer County

ALTA (CBS13) — A suspect is in custody accused of starting a fire that spread to a cabin in a small Placer County community late Monday afternoon.

Shortly before 4:20 p.m., the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said crews were responding to the fire that was in the Alta area.

The sheriff’s office said surveillance footage captured a woman setting a vehicle on fire. That fire spread to a cabin where two people were inside.

Authorities said both people were able to exit the cabin without any injuries.

The suspect fled into the woods and was located more than two hours later. She was only described as a white adult in her 20s.
