Thousands Of Fast Food Workers Expected To Go On Strike Next Week

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Thousands of fast-food workers are expected to go on strike next week to demand federal workplace standards.

Service Employees International Union organizers say that the strike is part of a larger rallying effort around a bill that they say would make California the first state to establish a fast-food sector council.

The council would set wages, working hours, and other standards for the industry.

The bill is now up for vote in the State Senate this summer.
