The campaign will brand Sacramento’s unique place as one of the most culturally integrated cities in the world through the creation of art. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration Dinner and AwardsThe Sacramento MLK Committee hosted the 21st annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration on Saturday, January 25th at Sacramento State Keynote Speaker, Ruby Bridges was the first African American student to integrate an elementary school in New Orleans at the age of six. She shared her powerful story from her days attending the all-white school to her work today as a civil rights activist. Recognition: Dr. Hazel Mahone, recipient of the 2020 Robert T. The Honorable Paul Seave, former US Attorney for the Eastern District of California, received a special award for being one of the founders of the MLK Celebration event.
