The Sacramento Midtown Mini/Midtown Love CelebrationOn September 16, the Midtown Association presented two events in one -- the Midtown Mini/Midtown Love celebration. The Midtown Mini was a 35-hole miniature golf activation set-up outdoors at 20th & K streets and was followed by an always-popular Midtown Love celebration at the iconic Faces Nightclub. Complete with food and drinks, live music, interactive art, putt-putt golf, mermaids, drag queens, a lip sync battle, photo booths, raffles, prizes and more, the celebratory event raised much-needed funds to support Midtown’s resiliency efforts for local restaurants, bars, and retail establishments as well as help sustain the health-focused and free programming offered in various Midtown Parks.
Sacramento Tower Bridge DinnerVisit Sacramento brought back the Tower Bridge Dinner on September 12th, downtown Sacramento. One of the country’s most coveted dining experiences, with a team of elite chefs and regional farmers served an unforgettable meal atop Tower Bridge. restaurants and caterers across the Sacramento region offered their take on the famous Tower Bridge Dinner menu. Diners were able to enjoy locally sourced, multi-course meals that were paired with regional wines, beers and more…right from home. An entirely local team of distinguished chefs lead the return of Visit Sacramento’s Tower Bridge Dinner fundraiser this year, with UC Davis Health Executive Chef Santa Diaz spearheading the group. Diaz has led a program for the health system that is changing the face of hospital food, prioritizing local ingredients and diverse options for both patients and staff.

The Center for Land-Based Learning new Mobile Farmers Market LaunchOn June 24, at Drake’s The Barn, West Sacramento Urban Farm Program launched new Mobile Farmers Market Program, a project of the West Sacramento Urban Farm Program – during its donor appreciation event honored Wells Fargo and other partners. Details of the program’s 2021 pilot year were unveiled including the locations, schedule, and selected produce for Mobile Farmers Market sales. Mobile Farmers Market truck helps improve health outcomes for West Sacramento residents by giving them access to healthy, locally grown foods; new program made possible by Wells Fargo and other partners t: West Sacramento residents who lack access to healthy foods have something to celebrate. Starting July 6, Center for Land-Based Learning’s Mobile Farmers Market truck will start visiting neighborhoods in West Sacramento. The truck – which accepts EBT/SNAP – will help improve health outcomes in the area by increasing access to affordable and locally grown produce. Additionally, it will offer nutrition education information through a partnership with Health Education Council and sell nonperishables items alongside fresh fruits and vegetables. PRIDE Month State Capitol Lighting CeremonyTo celebrate PRIDE month, the California State Capitol was illuminated in rainbow colors on Monday, June 21. The historic lighting ceremony was the kick-off a first of its kind city-wide illumination campaign to celebrate not just the LGBTQ community but diversity and inclusion. The lighting concept- ‘Glowing with Pride’, is the brainchild of the Sacramento LGBT Community Center, and will run from June 21st to the evening of June 27th.
