From the help of Make-A-Wish and support from the entire community, London’s dream became a reality on Monday, October 22, as he experienced what it is like to be a Ghostbuster and save the city from multiple ghosts there were spotted lurking around town. Mayor Darrell Steinberg also presented London with a Key to the City.

Created and executed by Visit Sacramento, the Tower Bridge Dinner serves as the September Farm-to-Fork Celebration’s finale, with hundreds of diners enjoying a locally sourced dinner at one of the region’s best-known landmarks. The dinner is designed to showcase the region’s culinary and agricultural prowess for residents, businesses and potential visitors across the country. The inaugural Tower Bridge Dinner was held in 2013 and led by farm-to-fork pioneers, Chefs Patrick Mulvaney and Randall Selland. Now in its sixth year, this one-of-a-kind dining experience has since evolved to become the Sacramento region’s most anticipated culinary event.
Child Abuse Prevention Council Annual Run Your Gourd Off FundraiserOn Sunday, September 23, over 300 individuals participated in the 7th Annual Run Your Gourd Off event located at Bishop’s Pumpkin Farm in Wheatland. The event included a 10K, 5K, and ½ mile Kid’s Fun Run. The event generated over $30,000 in proceeds for The Child Abuse Prevention Center, an organization dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect throughout the state of California. The winners in each category won their weight in pumpkins, and each child received a pumpkin for participating in the Kid’s Fun Run. Really fun event for all!
