Best 2015 Holiday Concerts In Sacramento

The holiday season is in full swing, and with Thanksgiving out of the way, Black Friday and Cyber Monday long passed and hopefully most of the shopping clear from your schedule, your schedule should be a little more relaxed. Now's the perfect time to sit down with your clan and pick out a lovely holiday concert to enjoy. With lots of colleges, churches and music groups having practiced months ahead, the time is definitely right to attend a holiday concert. Check out some of the best concerts in Sacramento below.

Every year, 94.7 throws a wicked Holiday concert which they've aptly dubbed Electric Christmas; this year, it's on Dec. 9 starting at 7 P.M. at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium. This year's concert features Bastille, Cold War Kids, Robert DeLong and Saint Motel as the headlining acts. Tickets are $55, and you can purchase them on Tickets.com. Also, if you happen to tune into 94.7, they'll be giving out tickets until the concert date, so you still have a couple of days to listen in.

In its 25th year of existence, the smooth and professional sounds of the Sacramento Concert Band bring a special repertoire of music to Christ Community Church in Carmichael on Dec. 7 from 7:30 P.M.- 9:30 P.M. The best part is that the concert has free admission; but it would behoove you to bring a donation to feed the hungry as a basket will be passed around. During intermission, there's going to be a raffle with homemade teddy bears and wall hangings, perfect for gifts if you win. Ypu can expect music from Mozart, Gershwin and a bit of Souza.

Arguably one of Sacramento's premier vocal group, Schola Cantorum has been wowing the great Sacramento community with their dulcet tones and sweet melodies for the better part of 24 years. Their musical holiday performance entitled, "From Heaven on High" runs two days on Dec. 19 and 20, with Saturday's performance kicking off at 8 P.M. and Sunday's performance at 2 P.M. "This show will feature conductor Donald Kendrick,
organist Ryan Enright, flutist Cathie Apple and harpist Beverly Wesner-Hoehn." Tickets are just $15 with a $5 off discount if you're a student or senior.

If you're looking for a family-friendly concert for all ages, look no further; the Sacramento Masters Singers are sure to delight. Being not too serious, many of the songs are well known, so you can sing along with your children. It's very informal; you can even sit directly under the conductor if you wish. Tickets are only $5 for adults and $3 for children. The concert is on Dec. 19 starting at 2 P.M. with doors opening 30 minutes prior.

Arguably one of the biggest Christmas concerts to invade Northern California, 107.9 The End's Jingle Ball not only is bringing you some of the nation's best artists but at an affordable price of just $55. We're talking about Flo Rida, Tori Kelly, Travis Mills, Alessia Cara, Kalin and Myles and Daya. The concert is on Dec. 5, 2015, and the doors open at 4:30 P.M. A couple of days before the concert, tickets may become sold out, but 107.9 always has a couple of pairs available if you tune in throughout the day.
