Best Burgers In The Sacramento Region

There is nothing more all-American than a hamburger, and National Burger Month is the perfect time to enjoy one. While hitting the drive-through at the fast food place down the street is one way to go, there is no reason to limit your options to fast food. These Sacramento restaurants offer delectable burgers made from a variety of meats, vegetables and seasonings with toppings and condiments that range from the traditional to haute cuisine.

Skip's Kitchen
4717 El Camino Ave.
(916) 514-0830
www.skipskitchen.comLocated in a small, unassuming building, Skip's offers great food with definite gourmet touches. Burgers are made with a hand-packed blend of sirloin and chuck on brioche buns, and a fresh veggie burger, made in-house, is also available. Sliders come with provolone and bacon-onion marmalade, and another burger has a combination of bleu, brie and provolone cheeses. Other options include thick, cherrywood-smoked bacon, avocado, garlic-butter sautéed onions and pastrami. Since nothing goes better with a burger than a side of spuds, check out Skip's' rosemary sweet-potato fries, or crosscut fries with garlic and parmesan.

Sacramento, CA 95820

www.thesqueezeinn.comThe Squeeze Inn is a favorite place for big, juicy all-beef Squeeze Burgers, available with a signature "cheese skirt". On the grill, the patty is topped with so much shredded cheese that it oozes out far beyond the meat. With a special technique using ice cubes, the extra cheese becomes a lightly crisp and fully tasty skirt around the sandwich. Although the burger is available without cheese, and with options like bacon, mushrooms or a veggie patty, regulars flock there for the cheese.

Squeeze Inn was described by Guy Fieri as "the best dive in Sacramento" for burgers on his television show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives." The restaurant has since moved into a less dive-like location, and has opened up in other areas including Roseville and midtown Sacramento.

The restaurant uses organic, cage-free, local and responsibly sourced ingredients, and even the coffee, from local Liberty Coffee Roasting Company, Comes from organic, fair trade beans from sustainable farms. Waffle Experience, owned and operated by two former Marines, is very popular, so allow a bit of extra time to get a table.
