Best Fajitas In Sacramento

Aside from finding fajitas in traditional Mexican restaurants, the dish has made its way into American casual dining restaurants like Applebee's and other chains. Fajita ingredients have also seen a departure from the standard iron skillet tableside presentation by making their way into burrito fillings and even pizza toppings. If you are on the hunt for fajitas - unique or traditional - in the Sacramento area, here are a few restaurants to check out.

If you speak Spanish, you might be realizing that two of these restaurants have identical names, one in Spanish and the other in English. Rest assured, Tres Hermanas and Three Sisters are two very different restaurants. The beauty of Three Sisters is the ability to get your fajitas delivered pretty much anywhere in Sacramento. So if you have a fajita craving, but don't want to leave the house, this is the spot. While Three Sisters has beef, mixed and veggie fajitas, the shrimp (fajitas de camaron) are the best option. This dish includes perfectly seasoned prawns sautéed with onions and red and green peppers, all tossed on a grill and served with sour cream and guacamole on the side.

With two locations in Roseville, Jalisco Fresh Mexican Grill was seeing a huge influx of visitors from Nevada City, El Dorado Hills and Auburn for a taqueria fix from the family-owned restaurants. The popularity of these restaurants prompted the owner to open another location, this time in Midtown, for those driving in from Sacramento. All of the recipes are handed down from owner Ramon Arias' mother and grandmother, including the fajitas. These fajitas are some of the the area's most authentic. Don't be daunted by the simple, mediocre presentation or the small selection (beef or chicken). The taste is phenomenal. Growing up in Jalisco, Mexico and traveling back home every year keeps the family refreshing these fajita recipes.
