December 31, on New Year's Eve, there will be a fireworks extravaganza display over the Sacramento River and Tower Bridge at 9 p.m. and midnight. The Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau will present it. The event plans were still being made at the time of this writing. However, spokesperson Sidney Scheideman recommended the best place to watch the fireworks would be from the River Walk in Old Sac. An annual event, last year there was live music, children's programming, a variety of street entertainment and dinner specials.
