Best Gastropubs In Sacramento

Here are some of the best places in Sacramento to get a cold one with some good friends and have a good time.

1217 21st Street
Sacramento, Ca 95811

New to Sacramento, Kupros, Latin for copper, is amazing. The décor hits you right when you walk in with a wooden staircase, and the gorgeous bar taking center stage as it should with stain glass to die for. Kupros offers outdoor dining on the patio and a lovely upstairs portion for a more intimate experience. With menu items like Flank Steak served with duck fat potatoes on a bed of arugala or the Sonoma Duck confit Rueben, you see this is not just a pub, it’s a gastro pub. Great drinks with gourmet food, yes please!

The Golden Bear

2326 K Street
Sacramento, Ca 95816

The newly remolded Golden Bear is beyond just a pub. They have an awesome outdoor patio, that feels retro, yet swanky at the same time. The service is friendly, fast, and the menu, holy smokes. They have a lovely wine selection, and the draft beer is diverse and unique. Golden Bear delivers when it comes to food, and not just wings and fried mozzarella sticks either. We’re talking real gourmet food, like the Margherita Pizzetta and the prosciutto and peach panini with Brie and caramelized onions. This is a must when in town or for a nice weekend change from the ordinary.

The Shady Lady Saloon

1409 R Street #101
Sacramento, Ca

The Shady Lady Saloon has paid attention to the details. With a chandelier hanging from the ceiling, and red velvet wallpaper you definitely feel you have walked into an old time saloon, minus the dust on your boots. They have a great selection of drinks, and the food is outstanding. From appetizers like the fried green tomatoes, to small plates like Kumamoto Oysters, or entrees like pulled pork crepes. You just wouldn’t get this anywhere else, check it out partners.

402 E. Bidwell Street
Folsom, Ca 95630

Armed with a nice, cozy atmosphere, Manderes offers up great service and even better food. Menu items like the lobster ravioli and Korean BBQ Beef (Bulgogi) Manderes makes the normal everyday pub look like boring brick wall. Their beer list, jokingly titled “no crap on tap” is nothing to scoff at either, boasting over 150 different types of brew to chose from.

DeVere’s Irish Pub

1521 L Street
Sacramento, Ca 95814

DeVere’s has an awesome atmosphere with great food and well poured drinks. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner items on the menu. The Smoked Salmon eggs Benedict is a must try, and the burger and fries are delectable. They also have traditional Irish pub food, like bangers and mash, and an Irish stew as well. Fun tip: Let the bartenders have free reign over your drink (if you are a risk taker) and watch them go completely nuts with amazing concoctions you will not regret.
