www.cafeteria15l.com When we said goodbye to Mason's, we really had no idea what to expect. Before it came to life, people heard the rumors of a cafeteria-style place that would be opening up with communal tables and casual fare. Many locals envisioned the high school lunch room when the concept was originally described. Everyone was wrong on this one. If you drive by Cafeteria 15 L on the weekend during the day, you'll see tables packed with people enjoying brunch. At night, you will find a line to get in that forms around the block. Any night of the week is busy here, but be prepared to wait if you are a weekend warrior. Cafeteria 15 L also serves a full lunch and dinner menu including desserts. A creative yet modest cocktail and wine list are available as well.

Let's talk for a brief moment about a winning formula. Sacramento restaurant pioneer Randy Paragary has managed to make K Bar a place you want to be seen. The Cafe Bernardo concept is one that has become known for its killer breakfast and lunch business. These concepts also all have bars attached to them with their own pulse and personality. Most notable are Monkey Bar and R15 which, while all part of the same company, are completely different beasts. K Bar opened up and welcomed by the community immediately and continues to serve cocktails to the masses while supporting a life completely separate from that of Cafe Bernardo.

Pizza Rock is one of the projects that really launched the revitalization of K Street in Sacramento (along with several others). We will start by first saying this is not a "pizzeria." Pizza Rock was the first in town to use ridiculously hot pizza ovens and make it famous. There are so many things that make this spot above average. The location itself is very trendy and it just feels like more than a pizza place. It could be because of the thought and care put into the concept by the owners and their chef. What they have given us is a great tasting pizza made with the freshest ingredients (love included). The restaurant has some great lighting, a great draw for nightlife, and a full bar which is something you won't find at the little pizza shops down the road offering you only pitchers of beer.
Dive Bar

Dive Bar is another one of those hip places that really earned its place on this list. There is absolutely no other bar in town where you will ever find a mermaid swimming around in a giant fish tank. You can even arrange to have a mermaid be your private hostess providing bottle service to your party. Dive Bar also has a $3 happy hour going from Monday through Friday which includes food, beer and mixed drinks. Check the events calendar for live music schedules and other cool happenings. If you want to go all in while enjoying a night out in Sacramento, stop by Dive Bar.
