Easter Sunday is coming up on March 27. It's time once again to fill up the Easter basket with candies and other goodies. It's the place where dreams come true." If you dream about shopping for candies with your parents or children, then Candy Heaven in Old Sacramento is the place to go. They have an employee wandering in front of the store to hand you a slip for free samples. Once you entered the store, the samples are clearly marked with blue signs. To say they have a large assortment of salt water taffy would be an understatement.

Whether it's Butterfinger or pistachio, Turtles has the flavors to satisfy any taste bud. Turtles might have a small storefront, but their delicious offerings more than make up for it.

Snooks is located in Historic Folsom, about a 30-minute drive from downtown SacramentoBut the drive is more than worth the time and effort. For Easter, they offer different types of Easter eggs and different sizes of Easter chocolate bunnies. The Snooks have been making candies for over 50 years, and it shows in the final product. While you are filling up your Easter basket, don't forget to try their peanut brittle.

Sacramento Sweets Company has been in business for over 50 years. They have been at their current location on Front Street in Old Sacramento since 1977. While there are no traditional Easter candies, there are still plenty of other goodies at Sacramento Sweets to fill up a whole Easter basket. Some of the yummy treats they offer are English toffee, almond caramel rocky road sticks, milk chocolate honeycomb and chocolate covered Twinkies. The best seller by far, though, is the peanut brittle. After deciding what to purchasebe sure to try their soft-serve ice cream and caramel apples. Be sure to pick up a bag of caramel corn as well.
