My friends are the best friends; Loyal, willing and able. Now let's get to drinking! All glasses off the table!

If you believe the rumors, the Irish know how to get their drink on. Irish Pubs are famous for their atmosphere and have been a staple in American cities since the early 1800's. The Sacramento-area has a few of their own. So if you're in the mood for an authentic pint of Guinness or a shot of Jameson whiskey, check out these pubs for a bit o' Irish fun.

The owners, from Dublin, have decorated their pub with the family's paintings and Irish antiques to give you a feel of their homeland. The menu is a mix of Irish, English and American food. And of course, they are very proud to serve Guinness. And many 'Yelp!' reviewers recommend their Irish coffee. De Vere's has also hosted Sacramentoís St. Patrick's Day Block Party for the past two years.

Gallagher's is known for its large selection of single malt Irish and Scotch whiskeys. But if you want a 'proper pint,' you can get that, too. Their menu of pub food doesn't contain many Irish classics. They serve breakfast during the week. Sacramento Magazine voted Gallagher's Best Irish Pub back in 2000.
