Buy It And Try It: Shed Ender

Bruno the husky mix is one furry dog, check out his thick coat!

"If I knew how to run a cotton gin I'd be a rich woman."

The Jesperson's of Ripon show us a batch of fur from just one 15-minute brushing session.

"I think I'm going to start making pillows…you got lots of hair buddy."

Bruno's fur gets everywhere. On clothes, throughout the yard, on our microphone, even our camera.

And you can only imagine how uncomfortable poor Bruno must be.

"How hot do you think he is?"

"Very hot."

The Jesperson's saw possible relief for Bruno when they saw the Shed Ender on the internet.

A quick and easy way to control shedding? Courtney and Daniel asked me to try it out.

"It looks like it might work, it looks like a professional shedding tool."

So we carefully read the instructions and we try it.

"Looks like it's working, so far taking quite a bit off. Is this anything different than a brush? I don't think so."

So why don't we do a side by side test and see who gets the most fur in 30-seconds.

"Looks like the Shed Ender has more."

And they notice it works on spots, where the brush doesn't.

"See how you don't get anything, but if you use this, it pulls some of it out of there."

But they're concerned the Shed Ender is time consuming and doesn't live up to it's name.

"When it says 'Shed Ender', it's a little deceiving cause it'll never end the shedding, not on my dog."

But what about on a dog without as much fur?

The Jesperson's have another dog with shorter hair, Ginger, but they locked her up because they say she's mean.

But for the good of what we do in testing products without bias we must be brave.

If we don't look at her, we should be okay.

So far so good. Hi ginger, (barking), ok we're not supposed to talk to her.

We'll keep our distance and let them try it out.

Ginger's got this family trained. They get permission before using anything on her. With ginger's approval they try it out.

"It actually gets a lot of fur."

In the end, they like the Shed Ender but aren't ready to dump the brush yet because they feel the brush is bigger and covers more of the dog faster. This is they're best advice for you.

"If they really want to take the time to get in there, I'd recommend the Shed Ender and definitely dog obedience classes…in case somebody comes over your house."

The Shed Ender goes for $9.99, we got it online. You can get one with a bigger head for $14.99
