Homicide Investigation On I-580 After Motorcyclist Killed

CASTRO VALLEY (CBS13) -- All eastbound lanes of Interstate 580 in Castro Valley have been closed after a motorcyclist was apparently run down and killed by a paratransit bus.

The California Highway Patrol said the motorcycle rider, who was described as a Hells Angels gang member, was traveling west of 150th Avenue just before 4:00 p.m. when he got into an altercation with the driver of the paratransit van.

The driver of the van is suspected of intentionally hitting the motorcyclist and dragging him for several miles underneath the van. The rider did not survive his injuries.

All eastbound lanes were closed after the incident and are expected to remain shut down until 11:00 p.m., according to the CHP.
