UPDATE: False Alarm On Howe Avenue Bomb Threat

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A bomb threat on Howe Avenue in Sacramento on Thursday afternoon turned out to be nothing, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.

Units responded to the 1100 block of Howe and several area businesses were evacuated at the peak of the lunchtime hour, but nothing was found.

"Sounds like a big nothing," sheriff's spokesman Deputy Jason Ramos said. "No suspicious packages or devices found."

Apparently a business at 1111 Howe got an anonymous call about a bomb, and an employee didn't want to go back inside until deputies cleared it.
