Two Suspects In Custody After High-Speed Chase

FOLSOM (CBS13) - Two men are in custody after leading police on a high speed chase that lasted more than a half hour.

The chase began on Sheldon Road and Highway 99 in Elk Grove when officers tried to pull over a car that had been reported stolen around 3:30 Wednesday morning.

The driver instead took off and at times was driving the wrong way on surface streets before heading onto northbound Highway 99 and eventually eastbound Highway 50 into Folsom.

CHP says the suspect vehicle reached speeds of 100 miles per hour and near the end of the pursuit rammed a CHP car causing it to spin out. The officer in that car was not hurt.

Eventually, officers performed what is called a pit maneuver to disable the suspect vehicle. Two suspects inside the car were taken into custody at Iron Point Road in Folsom.
