Man Arrested In Ripon After Being Investigated For Copper Wire Theft

RIPON (CBS13) - A man was arrested in Ripon on Tuesday after police received reports he was stealing copper wire from a light.

At around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, police received reports of a man reportedly stripping a copper wire that had been pulled out of a light pole behind the Save Mart on Goodwin Drive. When officers arrived, they found the man, but discovered the wire he was stripping was not from the light pole.

Sunil Dutton, 42, was arrested on an unrelated misdemeanor charge out of Merced.

The source of the copper wire is under investigation.
