Elk Grove Girl Claims She Was Jumped In Fight Captured On Cell Phone Video

ELK GROVE (CBS13) - A fight between two teenage girls was recorded on a cell phone and posted online for the world to see, but one of the girls in the video says she's the victim of bullying.

Ronnae Banks, a 7th grader at Samuel Jackman Middle School in Elk Grove, says she's the one in the Facebook video being bullied and getting jumped by a group of girls from her school.

"My head was held down the entire time and people were just hitting me and stuff," she said.

Ronnae says she was all alone in the fight and was taunted, kicked and punched. She ended up with a black eye.

The video is understandably hard for her mother to watch.

"I couldn't stand to look at it," said Sabina. "I was up at 12:30 at night. I couldn't sleep. That was the last thing I saw."

Sabina still doesn't know what caused last Friday's fight, saying parents of the other kids in the video refuse to meet with her. She found a fake Facebook page of her daughter, presumably created by her attackers.

"I just felt like, what transpired to where that they would want to do this to her?" said Sabina.

Ronnae says two of the girls were suspended, but her mom isn't satisfied with that. She wants them expelled and plans to file a police report, especially after Ronnae says her attackers showed her the video, making her relive those terrifying moments.

A spokeswoman for the Elk Grove Unified School District says they learned of the off-campus fight Monday morning. She says the district took disciplinary action against two students.
