Human Bone Found In Backyard Of Live Oak Home

LIVE OAK, Calif. (CBS13) - Authorities in Sutter County are investing the discovery of human remains in the backyard of a Live Oak home on Monday.

Lt. Butah Uppal of the Sutter County Sheriff's Department confirmed to CBS13 the discovery of a single piece of skeletal remains, but didn't go into detail about what part was or how long it had been there.

The Appeal Democrat reports that along with detectives, anthropologists are at the home in the 2400 block of Archer Avenue, sifting through what resembles an archaeological find.

Lt. Uppal says it's too soon in the investigation to suspect foul play.

Live Oak is a city located about 11 miles north of Yuba City.
