NORTH HIGHLANDS (CBS13) – Flames ripped through a home in North Highlands overnight.

The home is on Morazan Street at Don Julio Boulevard. Officials say the fire started in the garage then moved to the attic. A car parked in the driveway suffered heavy damage.

A neighbor says the flames were so intense she thought they may spread to other homes.

“The flames were really close to the tree, I thought any minute they could catch the tree, catch our house, then keep jumping,” said neighbor Kira Beaugez.

Fortunately no one was hurt.

Fire officials say they aren’t sure exactly what caused the fire.
