Retired San Juan Unified School District Teacher Arrested On Child Porn Charges

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) - A retired San Juan Unified School District teacher is under investigation for allegedly videotaping underage girls without their knowledge for his own sexual gratification.

Roseville police detectives arrested Robert Alan Kill, 62, of Roseville in October on charges of producing and possessing child pornography and other related charges. They uncovered evidence that Kill may have recorded other underage girls -- possibly students -- without the victims' knowledge.

"Detectives went through some evidence and they found some things that there could possibly be some former students that are victims," said Dee Dee Gunther with Roseville Police.

He didn't answer the door at his home, but neighbors are creeped out by the allegations.

"It was kind of shocking as I've lived next to him for seven years," said Nick Kitteridge. "He's always been kind of weird and secluded, I guess."

His father is a police officer, and says the family has made sure his 15-year-old sister was not a victim.

According to information provided by the San Juan Unified School District, Kill taught students as young as the 3rd grade. Kill was hired by the district back in 1979 and taught classes from grades 3 to 8 at Woodside K-8 School, John Barrett Middle School, Orangevale Open K-8 School, Kenneth Avenue Elementary School and Oakview Community Elementary School.

Former Oakview Elementary students in Orangevale described their sixth-grade teacher as one of their favorites growing up.

"He was always so nice to us," one student said. "He was such a great teacher and cared about the school.

Kill retired in 2011. His most-recent post was at Oakview, where he taught 5th grade from 1999-2002, then 6th grade from 2002 to his retirement.

Kill has since been released on $1 million bail.

Anyone with information that could help police is asked to call Roseville Police Detective Keith Marzolf at (916) 774-5072.
