SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A person was found dead inside of a vehicle on Tuesday morning in Sacramento County.

Just before 11 a.m., sheriff’s deputies received reports of gunshots in the area of Stevenson Avenue and Golden Meadow Drive. Deputies went to the area where the shots were heard and found several cars with bullet holes, according to a statement from Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Sgt. Lisa Bowman.

At 11:46 a.m., a waste management worker reportedly discovered a male slumped over inside of a vehicle. Deputies were called to the scene and confirmed the male was dead. His death is being investigated as a homicide.

It’s unknown if the death was connected to the earlier shootings.
