SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Crews say eight people have been displaced after a garage fire at a south Sacramento home Tuesday morning.

The fire was first reported at a home on Demaret Drive a little after 6 a.m.

Firefighters soon found heavy smoke coming from the garage, but were able to knock down the fire within 15 minutes. The fire was contained to the garage, firefighters say.

No one was injured in the fire, but a total of eight people have been displaced. Volunteers with the Red Cross are helping the family find lodging and food.

Investigators are trying to figure out what caused the fire.
