Man, 21, Stabbed To Death In West Roseville; Suspect Sought

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) – Detectives say a 21-year-old man was stabbed to death in Roseville late Friday night.

According to the Placer County Sheriff's Office, the Sacramento man was walking with his friends to a party happening at Lanie Court, off of Cook Riolo Road. Around 11:30 p.m., detectives say the group got into an argument with a group of people in a car.

At some point during the argument, the driver of the car got out and stabbed the 21-year-old three to four times. He then got back in the car and took off.

The 21-year-old later died from his injuries.

Detectives believe the victim and suspect did not know each other. Further, the incident does not look to be gang-related.

Sunday, authorities identified the man killed as 21-year-old Carmichael resident Andrew Michael Petrenko.

Few details about the suspect have been released, with detectives only saying that he appears to be 18 to 22 years old and was driving an older, white sedan.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Placer County Sheriff's Office at (530) 886-5375.
