By Lacey M. Carroll

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Superheroes and celebrities are out and about this weekend in Downtown Sacramento for Wizard World's Sacramento Comic-Con.

Thursday featured the Launch Party for a selected few VIPs, cosplayers and press as well as a screening of box-office smash "Jurassic World" at the IMAX Theatre. Celebrities such as Sean Patrick Flanery ("Boondock Saints," "Dexter"), Chris 51 and the cast of SPIKE TV's "Epic Ink," and Jason David Frank ("Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers") came out to watch the movie, meet fans and answer questions.

"I'm excited to be here" said Flanery, who is working on a third installment of "Boondock Saints" titled "The Boondock Saints 3: Legion" with Walking Dead star Norman Reedus. "I have a book coming out called 'Jane Two' in December and comic-con fans are always very supportive."

As fans lined up to take selfies with the stars, Sacramento Kings dancers performed in Bat Girl costumes and cosplayers took photos with fans.

From Hulk Hogan, Spider-Man and The Joker there was an array of cosplay characters dotted along the K Street Promenade.

One such cosplayer was Masquerade Rose dressed as Chun Li from the popular "Street Fighter" franchise.

"I've been cosplaying for over two years now, I've dressed as Zantanna, and Sailor Mars as well and I really enjoy it," she said.

As the cast of "Epic Ink" joked around with fans, and posed for photos we spoke with fans about the upcoming event.

"I used to drive to San Francisco for Wonder-con, but it's nice to have something large here in Sacramento now that Wonder-con moved to Anaheim," one fan said.

"It's really nice that the celebrities come out for things like this, it really makes it special and I'm a big fan of "Epic Ink," they were cool to talk to," said fan, Shaun Ferrell

This weekend will feature panels and photo ops with stars such as Norman Reedus ("Walking Dead," "Boondock Saints") and Billie Piper ("Doctor Who", "Penny Dreadful") and con staples such as Henry Winkler ("Happy Days," "Arrested Development") and Kevin Conroy ("Batman: The Animated Series") a full list of celebrities, artists, and authors appearing this weekend can be found here.
