JACKSON (CBS13) – One person is dead after a fire broke out in Jackson early Saturday morning.

The scene was near Water and Summit Streets. According to the Jackson Fire Department, firefighters were called to the scene just before 3:30 a.m. and found a home and a commercial building going up in flames.

Firefighters say a body was found inside the home. The person’s identity has not been released by authorities at this time.

Both the building and attached home are a total loss.

What exactly caused the fire is still under investigation. Jackson Fire, the ATF and Cal Fire are all helping in the investigation.
