FAIRFIELD (CBS13) – Airman Spencer Stone, one of three Sacramento natives who helped stop an attack on a French train, has been promoted.
Stone was promoted from airman first class to staff sergeant. Stone, along with his childhood friends Army Spc. Alek Skarlatos and Anthony Saddler, rose to national prominence in August after they helped stop a suspected terrorist attack on a train headed to France. The airman was also stabbed in that incident.
