SACRAMENTO (CBS Sacramento) – Silicon Valley is dropping acid.

Not to get high, but to get ahead.

The practice was reported by Rolling Stone, which said the tech pros are turning on to LSD to turn up their productivity.

American psychologist James Fadiman says micro-dosing with psychedelics could be an effective replacement for drugs like Adderall, which are often abused in high-stress tech careers like computer programming.

He claims a dose of 10 micrograms of LSD is enough to focus your attention without causing hallucinations.

Fadiman says to take the drugs for four days before going to work, for best results.

“What many people are reporting is, at the end of the day, they say, ‘That was a really good day.’ You know, that kind of day when things kind of work. You’re doing a task you normally couldn’t stand for two hours, but you do it for three or four. You eat properly. Maybe you do one more set of reps. Just a good day. That seems to be what we’re discovering,” Fadiman said last year at the Horizons psychedelic quorum in New York City, according to the blog The Plaid Zebra.
