WALNUT GROVE (CBS13) – One person has died and another person was injured in a crash on southbound Interstate 5 in Walnut Grove.

The crash reportedly happened around 1:48 p.m. between Walnut Grove and Twin Cities roads. According to a CHP statement, a big rig carrying a mobile home went off the road and rolled. None of the debris was on the road, but slowing was caused by drivers slowing down to look at the wreckage.

The driver of the big rig died and the passenger was taken to Kaiser Permanente South Sacramento Medical Center with moderate injuries.

The exact cause of the crash is being investigated.

Caltrans recommended drivers exit at Twin Cities Road and cut over to southbound Highway 99.
