California Man Killed By Illegal Fireworks Blast

BAKERSFIELD (AP) -- The Kern County Sheriff's Office says a 45-year-old man was killed when an illegal firework detonated.

David Michael Adams of Bakersfield died late Friday at a hospital.

Authorities say the man was lighting fireworks when the explosion occurred.

The sheriff's bomb squad is investigating.
