Blue Shield And Lyft To Offer Free Rides To Medical Appointments For Some Patients

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Blue Shield of California and rideshare company Lyft are teaming together to launch a pilot program in Sacramento.

It will allow some of its Sacramento-area patients to get free Lyft rides to doctors' offices and medical appointments.

Officials say the goal of this program is to improve access to health care.

The program is scheduled to run for 12 months. If it's successful, they plan on expanding the service throughout the state.
