Search On For Suspect Robert Hanson After Fairfield Officer-Involved Shooting

FAIRFIELD (CBS13) — Fairfield police are searching for a dangerous suspect after an officer-involved shooting in the 300 block of Dahlia Street.

No one was hurt in the incident, according to police.

The suspect, 47-year-old Fairfield Suisun resident Robert Hanson, is driving a 1994 gold Jaguar two-door, license plate 5MOE190. Police said he is considered dangerous and should not be approached.

Hanson is wanted for assault with a deadly weapon on an officer. Police say the deadly weapon, in this case, is a vehicle.

Officers were reportedly conducting a criminal investigation involving Hanson in the area of Dahlia Street.

When officers attempted to pull over Hanson and make contact with him, police say he reportedly tried to run over officers and an officer opened fire. No officers were hurt during this incident.

Hanson got away and police are now actively searching for him. Officers say he is well-known to officers in the area and has a criminal history involving firearms, taking hostages, vehicle pursuits and drugs.

If you see Hanson or his vehicle, please contact the police. Do not approach him. He is considered dangerous.

Dahlia Street was closed as police remain on the scene. Officers said the scene may be cleared around 8 p.m. Friday.
