Man, 40, Dies After Head-On Crash On Highway 99 Near Live Oak

LIVE OAK (CBS13) – Lanes on both directions of Highway 99 were closed after a deadly head-on crash in Sutter County Monday morning.

The scene near Paseo Road, just south of the community of Live Oak.

California Highway Patrol says a GMC driver was heading northbound on Highway 99 when, for an unknown reason, he let his vehicle cross double yellow lines into oncoming traffic.

His vehicle was then hit head-on by a big rig.

The GMC driver suffered fatal injuries in the crash, CHP says. His name has not been released, but CHP says he was a 40-year-old Live Oak resident.

Lanes were closed on both directions of Highway 99 after the crash, but they were back open around 1 p.m.
