CHP: Search Underway For Driver Involved In Fatal Crash In Orangevale

CHP confirms they made contact with the driver, Brandon Langsjoen, on Monday. Officials say Langsjoen is not under arrest and said he is working with investigators.
ORANGEVALE (CBS13) — Authorities are asking the public for help in locating a person of interest believed to be involved in a fatal crash in Orangevale early Sunday.
Brandon Douglas Langsjoen, of Fair Oaks, is believed to have fled from the scene of a deadly solo vehicle crash at around 1:30 a.m. near Madison and Main avenues.
The California Highway Patrol said three of the vehicle's five occupants were hospitalized with minor to moderate injuries, another who wasn't wearing a seatbelt died at the scene and Langsjoen, the driver, reportedly ran from the scene.
CHP said the vehicle crashed into a fire hydrant an active search in the area is underway for Langsjoen.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspect is asked to contact the CHP Dispatch center at 916-861-1300.
A memorial was held Sunday night at 8 p.m. at the accident site for the decedent CJ Tousey. It was out front of an Enterprise Rent-A-Car located at 9437 Madison Ave.
Family and friends gathered to pray and place flowers at the accident scene.
Daryn Wills is an uncle to the victim and appreciated the crowd of close to 60 people who turned up for the vigil.
"Obviously C.J. was a very liked and loved young man. He was taken way too soon," Wills said.
Many who gathered Sunday were co-workers from Apac Fine Chemicals and say the workplace will be different now. Daryn Wills worked with his deceased nephew and gave him a job with the company.
"He was supposed to come back to work today," Wills said. "He worked swing shift and when I close my eyes I see his face."
Robert Tucay worked at Apac and supervised Tousey.
"He was always smiling, always laughing, joking around, brought a really good, positive attitude to the workplace," Tucay said.
Twisted shrubs and broken glass still litter the accident scene. The one man who could possibly answer what happened there is nowhere to be found.
Uncle Wills would like to know what happened.
"If he was a friend and he bailed like that, what's he running for?" Wills said. "Was he drinking? Did he have warrants? I don't know."
CHP East Sacramento would like anyone who knows the whereabouts of Langsjoen to come forward with any information they have.
