Sacramento may not be the first place that comes to mind when a person thinks about Latin dance, but what the city lacks in quantity it more than makes up for in quality. There are a myriad of bars and clubs where Latin is a themed night of the week. Sacramento has seen many nightclubs pop up one day and disappear completely in the blink of an eye. Latin clubs are no different, however Sacramento has managed to hold on to some gems. If Latin dance is in your blood, then pay close attention to the following list and you won’t be disappointed.

Sacramento’s best venue for Argentine tango, Tango by the River, is located in historic Old Sacramento. With 1,500 square feet of hardwood floors, expansive ceilings and windows, this place definitely has a great atmosphere. Just being here makes you want to dance. Tango’s user-friendly website “puts it all out there” so to speak. Everything you want to know about this hidden gem is available. Well organized and visually stimulating, this is a great example of what a good support team can accomplish. On the classes tab, you can even watch a video filmed during one of the lessons.
