Alleged Victim Praises Arrest Of Lyon

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ― One of the women who was allegedly recorded by a Sacramento real estate mogul without her permission said she has been waiting for charges to be filed for more than a year and a half and praised law enforcement for finally making an arrest.

Michael Lyon, former CEO of Lyon Real Estate, was arrested at about 8:00 a.m. Wednesday morning on four felony charges of eavesdropping in connection with the secret tapes he allegedly made of sexual acts.

Lyon is also facing civil lawsuits from women who claim they were videotaped having sex.

One woman, who asked to only be identified as one of Lyon's victims, released a statement to CBS13 on Wednesday night.

"Horrified and traumatized best explain my emotions, with some relief he was finally charged and arrested," the statement read. "It's been a very long year and a half of waiting for this day."

"I would never speak to him again for the rest of my life. My soul and my brain are forever damaged from Michael Lyon," the statement continues.

Lyon quickly posted bail Wednesday morning and made a brief statement to reporters.

"These are all allegations. I'm intent on clearing my good name," Lyon said.

Lyon's attorney, Bill Portanova, leveled criticism against the Sacramento district attorney's office for filing the charges.

"If bedroom behavior is now the highest priority of a cash-strapped county, well then that's the district attorney's decision to make and she can spend your money as she sees fit," Portanova said.

Detectives spent much of Wednesday searching Lyon's three homes in Sacramento, Carmichael and the Lake Tahoe area, removing two truckloads of belongings, including laptops, hard drives and a computer server.
