Baby Girl In Critical Condition; Parents Arrested

VACAVILLE, Calif. (CBS13) ― A nine-month-old girl is fighting for her life after suffering severe head trauma at her Vacaville home Saturday morning, according to authorities.

Police said the baby girl was taken to an emergency room just before noon and was treated for multiple head fractures.

A helicopter transported the unresponsive child to the UC Davis Medical Center in critical condition, where she is still being treated.

Detectives interviewed the child's parents, Colleen Hernandez and Michael Hernandez, and discovered a history of child abuse and prior arrests relating to crimes targeting their two older children. Both parents were arrested and are being held without bail.

Solano County Child Welfare Services has taken custody of the couple's three-year-old child, who was at home when police arrived.
