Suspect Shot By Placer Co. Deputy Dies

LINCOLN (CBS13) -- A suspect shot by an undercover Placer County Sheriff's deputy Monday morning behind a fast food restaurant in Lincoln has died, according to the Lincoln Police Department.

Officials say a Placer County Sheriff's deputy shot the suspect at 115 G. Street behind a Burger King Restaurant at 10:42 a.m.

Undercover Sheriff's deputies had been watching a stolen pickup and had called for back up. Lincoln police say when additional officers to pull over the suspect, the suspect rammed one officer's car and attempted to run over another officer who was on foot.

Police say that's when officers opened fire.

The suspect, identified as 42-year-old John William Sinor, Jr., was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The Lincoln Police Department is investigating along with the Placer County District Attorney's Office.
