Second Graders May Have Had Oral Sex In Classroom

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — A second-grade Oakland teacher is on leave while the school investigates reports that students engaged in oral sex during class.

There are also reports Markham Elementary School kids stripped off their clothes in class.

The Oakland Tribune says the teacher, whose name hasn’t been released, is now on administrative leave while the investigation continues into last week’s allegations.

Oakland school district spokesman Troy Flint says the principal learned Wednesday of the allegations after a student came forward. A letter was sent Thursday informing parents that there was an investigation.

That is a very deragatory statement sometimes kids/people make false statements and later reveal the truth i don’t believe it it sounds unreal in front of a whole classroom? is the whole classroom witnesses? just remember there are 2 sides to every story a 2nd grader wow after teaching school for 20 years & yes i do have 1 that’s in kindergarten ,1st,,2nd,3rd,5th,6th,7th,,8th,&9th i never heard of any such thing what’s going on in that kid home? or in their minds ? this need to be dealt with accordingly and yes please get down to the real nitty-gritty!!!!!

      1. Brenda says:

If you are a teacher, why don’t you use capitalization and punctuation?????

      2. TAMERA TAYLOR'LIVINGSTON says:

      3. Political Armor says:

I’m guessing (and hoping) you don’t teach English.

      4. D-man says:

You are a shining example, madam, of what is wrong with the public education system. If you were my child’s teacher, I would pull my child out of your class, then seek to have your school closed because it hired incompetents such as you. You could not correctly compose a simple English sentence even if your life depended on it, and you call yourself a teacher? Gads…

      5. TAMERA TAYLOR'LIVINGSTON says:

To all of you judges out there that want to correct me this story is about 2nd graders having oral sex not x- school teacher . 6. Shelly says:

Reading your comments makes my brain hurt. Do you have 9 kids? You must have never heard of birth control if you do. What was derogatory about Tom’s statement?
Oh, and no you can’t spell, or use grammar.

  2. Charles Standfield Sr. says:

I can’t believe you guys don’t know that this king of stuff goes on all the time, and our kids are exposed to it all the time. if you to would like to know more about “sexal games” just sit down, pickup your remote, and scan some stations, or ask your child. Cable TV has taken entertainment to a new and scary level where you can put any type of act and to hell with who ever watches..The school system we have should be abolished and start all over, kids aren’t learning anything in school anyway.

    1. conserver1 says:

Ok, once we abolish the school system, where kids don’t learn anything, we’ll still have cable TV were kids learn too much. You want to get rid of that too? Then make sure everyone goes to church and wears things on their heads. Is that where you’re going? People only need to read one book to learn everything they need to know, right?

    In response to Tom:
If this actually did happen in class, how could the teacher NOT be aware unless he/she was being ENTIRELY negligent or allowing this behavior? This isn’t a high school class where the teacher can leave the room for 10-15 minutes at a time, it’s the second grade.

  4. Alex says:

    Charles,
Cable TV is not at fault. Parents have an obligation to monitor what their kids watch and decide if they are mature enough to understand the difference between fact and fiction. This is the same rhetoric that leads to ridiculous beliefs like violent video games being the cause of childhood violence. If those kids have a strong family base that teaches them there’s a time for pretend and a time for real life, it wouldn’t be a problem.

    1. K says:

I Love seeing people who still have some common sense.
I feel the same way Alex.

  5. carmel says:

when this story was first aired, it was alleged that the teacher was present while this was happening.

  6. Tamera Taylor'Livingston says:

I have 14 grandkids 9 boys 5 girls this is unexceptable with the children period i taught school jr.high & high school in the bay area in order for a teacher to allow that they have to be a pervert,-molester and is very negligent therfore their teaching credentials need to be took (fired)but kids can dispise a teacher and make up stories you are innocent until proven guilty would hate to see a person lose their credentials -credibility over a lie which we all do.good luck on your investigation

    1. ted says:

I don’t think you were really ever a teacher, as you appear to be unaware of basic sentence structure or punctuation. Also, your post makes no point that I can discern.

      1. Ms. Tee says:

I concur Ted. I am a school teacher and I don’t buy it. She may have worked at a school but was never a teacher. Additionally, real teachers know that this kind of behavior happens in real life. Children are exposed to so much in the home and through peers these days.

      2. Brenda says:

I agree. One would expect a teacher to use correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.

    2. conserver1 says:

      Unexceptable you say?

  7. Rob says:

That makes me sick to my stomach.

  8. Donald says:

Who says that we do not need prayer in our schools! Their needs to be a standard. And with out one these are the type’s if thingsthat our kids are being exposed to. They are teaching a no moral standard and a anything goes, whatever one thinks is right. They say you should respect my belifs.

    1. conserver1 says:

Kids do pray all the time, Donald. Even while in school! If these kids were ratted out for praying, that’s a different story. There is a standard and that is why we are reading about it.

  9. Starletta says:

Who is or is not raising our children? Why is the teacher on administrative leave? Are the parents? Somebody is being molested somewhere, and a psychologist will tell you that there is only so much a child can imagine without know what he or she is talking about. I blame somebody’s parents, and instead of just blaming the teacher, I would see who is minding the store in these homes.
I am not saying that it is every parent, but somebody is not watching the little ones.

  12. jenny says:

what i am 13 and think this is fake. no one in my school has had sex. this is just so weird. kids get to know what sex is younger and younger this terrible. if i was a kid in that class i would have ran away. this is so gross.

  13. prat says:

“The English of the Nitty Griity is a black thang”???? It’s “black” to write like an ignoramus??

  14. blah says:

I think the kids are lying about the teacher’s doing that, i work with 20 or more kids in one class, I can’t even move or no time to do anything else…beside just helping them with their work…that’s a lie lie….lie lie
