Police: Suspect Taken Into Custody After Elk Grove Standoff
ELK GROVE (CBS13) -- Elk Grove Police and SWAT team members have arrested an irate man who was held up in his home and refused to come out, according to the Elk Grove Police Department.
The Elk Grove Fire Department was dispatched Thursday to put out a car fire that the man apparently set himself, authorities say.
When the firefighters arrived at the scene, the man apparently became extremely belligerent and combative. As firefighters called the Elk Grove Police Department for backup, the man ran into the home and refused to come out.
The suspect is currently being taken to a medical facility for a mental evaluation.
It is unknown at this time how the suspect was apprehended.
