NBA Approves Extension Of Relocation Deadline For Sacramento Kings

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - The NBA has approved an extension of the relocation deadline to the Sacramento Kings.

The NBA announced the extension in statement released today.

"The deadline, which is typically March 1 prior to the season for which a team wants to relocate, has now been moved to April 18 to give Kings ownership the opportunity to discuss its options with the NBA Board of Governors at its meeting on April 14-15."

There's speculation the Maloofs are looking to send the team to Anaheim.

Sacramento Mayor Johnson spoke with CBS13 this morning saying he wants to keep the team in Sacramento.  He compared the relationship between the city and the team as a marriage where one partner wanted out and the other wanted to stay married.
