STOCKTON (CBS13) -  A pilot and passenger are safe after being forced to make an emergency landing in a Stockton field.

The small plane landed right next to batting cages near Louis Park after running into engine problems Monday night.

Witnesses say a flight instructor and student were on board.

No one in the plane or on the ground was hurt.

The FAA will investigate.
