Two Men Arrested For Stealing Guard Rails From Tuolumne County Road

TUOLUMNE COUNTY (CBS13) – Tuolumne County Sheriff's deputies have arrested two men for stealing guard rails from the side of a road.

Deputies began patrolling the area around Shawmut Road near Chinese Camp earlier this week after getting report that a section of guard rail worth about $2,000 was missing

Early Thursday morning, Deputy Paul Speers arrested 47-year-old Greg Troedson of Denair and 42-year-old Darrel Deaton of Modesto. Deputy Speers spotted the pair on Shawmut Road with a newly removed section of guard rail laying on the ground nearby.

The deputy also found a pry bar, tools and two metal recycling receipts in their truck.

Troedson and Deaton were booked into the Tuolumne County Jail on charges of conspiracy and attempted grand theft.
