Lawmaker Pleads No Contest To DUI
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) -- State Assemblyman Martin Garrick pleaded no contest Friday to driving under the influence in Sacramento last month.
According to a statement released by the GOP lawmaker's office, Garrick's attorney entered the plea in Sacramento Superior Court ahead of his August 15 court appearance.
Garrick has been ordered to perform 48 hours of community service and pay $2,416.01 in fines. His license was also suspended for 4 months and Garrick will be required to attend a DMV program.
CHP officers stopped Garrick in the Capitol garage on June 16 and citing him for driving under the influence after he showed signs of intoxication and failed a sobriety test.
Garrick represents the 74th Assembly district near San Diego and was elected in November of 2006.
