Fairfield Police Identify Suspect In Solano Student's Murder

FAIRFIELD (CBS13) -- The Fairfield Police Department is searching for an 18-year-old wanted for murder in the shooting of a Solano Community College student-athlete late Wednesday night.

Ennis Johnson, 21, was found dead at a residence in the 2500 block of Hilborn Drive on Wednesday at 11:15 p.m. after his mother reported finding him bloody and unconscious in his bedroom.

According to police, an investigation was conducted and it was quickly determined that Johnson had died at the hands of one or more suspects.

It was also determined that Johnson had been specifically targeted by associates of his and was robbed of property during the time of his murder.

The Fairfield Police Department is looking for Hasan McCaulie for murder and robbery. McCaulie is described as black, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 155 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Police said McCaulie is believed to be in possession of several handguns and is considered armed and dangerous. He is associated with addresses in both Vallejo and Richmond.

Police also arrested Kenneth Franklin, 23, of Fairfield for murder.

Anyone with information regarding McCaulie is asked to contact the Fairfield Police Department at (707)428-7300. Callers may also be anonymous by calling (707)644-STOP.

Johnson was a football and basketball player at Solano after graduating from Armijo High School.

The stunned football team called off practice Thursday to mourn the player's death, saying Johnson was the heart of the team and calling his murder incomprehensible.

"I am very shocked. He's never been a kid in trouble," said coach Floyd Burnsen. "He worked at Walmart, he was a security guard at night. He worked from like 12 to 7 in the morning and he'd be at weight training at 7:30 in the morning."
