Alleged Facebook Bragging Bandit Tracked Down

ACAMPO (CBS13) -- A man who taunted police by updating his Facebook page while on the run is set to appear before  a judge today.

Jeffrey McInturff is suspected in at least five armed robberies in an around Lodi and at least two high-speed chases. He's suspected of robbing the North County Recycling Center in Lodi on Oct. 18, armed with a sawed off shotgun.

While evading police, McInturff apparently updated his Facebook page several time including writing that his favorite sport is "high speed chases".

But finally San Joaquin County Sheriff's deputies say they've caught him, making the arrest over the weekend.

After all those Facebook updates, he ended up underground in hiding -- under a bridge in fact is where sheriff's deputies found him.

There was no high-speed getaway this time. Deputies used a K-9 to run him down. Deputies found him after getting tipped that he was spotted at Mokulumne Beach RV Park.

"I saw the lights and said, 'They're after someone. I'm thinking somethings going on,'" park manager Patsy Favour said.

"At least he's off the street and somebody's not going to get killed because he's an idiot," said park resident Michelle Germann.

So the alleged Facebook felon has been found. No word on whether he's calling his new jail cell "my space."
